Welcome to the American Human

I want to explore, in as clear a fashion as possible, what it means to be human and, in particular, what it means to be an American human.
Okay, on the web and more specifically in the blogosphere, discussing such heady and likely contentious notions can be dicey indeed. I hope, however, to do so in as civil a manner as possible. I also hope that people of differing views will participate in a discussion of what it truly means to be human in America, so that we can examine whom we really want to become in the 21st century.
Having said that, I’ve got to make it clear that I have, not an agenda, but a set of evolved opinions on all the areas of human experience: sociology, philosophy, religion, politics, economics, history, science, education, and public policy. I intend to present and continually re-examine those opinions, and I intend to do so in as animated and colorful a way as I feel like. In other words, I’m not going to pull any punches, while doing my best not to be a bully or a jerk.
If I do have an agenda, it’s to discover and encourage the common humanity we share as Americans and gather here at this site a set of resources that constitute a primer of sorts, so that we can advance the cause, for the sake of the larger world, that a successful nation can undertake.
Care to join me?
